The Vertical Paste Extrusion Process
ertical paste extrusion serves as a core manufacturing technology for converting PTFE fine powder resin into premium-performance tubular products. The complete production workflow consists of four standardized processing stages as follows:
1. Material Mixing
PTFE fine powder is uniformly mixed with dedicated lubricants under controlled conditions to produce homogeneous paste materials that meet subsequent extrusion requirements.
2. Preforming
The well-blended paste is subjected to compression molding to form a compact cylindrical billet, also known as a preform, with stable density and regular shape.
3. Vertical Paste Extrusion
The finished preform is placed into a vertical PTFE paste extruder. Driven by a hydraulic ram, the billet is extruded through custom-designed dies and mandrels at a constant and accurately regulated speed. The semi-finished tubular product formed in this step is defined as a green tube.
4. High-temperature Sintering

The unsintered green tube is transported into a multi-temperature-zone furnace for continuous heat treatment. This procedure eliminates residual lubricants completely and achieves high-strength sintering of PTFE particles. Ultimately, seamless PTFE tubes with integrated structure, excellent mechanical stability and outstanding comprehensive performance are manufactured.
